Your Path to Enhanced Wellbeing
Navigating life with a physical health condition — from a new diagnosis to chronic illness management or recovery from medical trauma — requires specialised support. Standard talk therapy is often insufficient. Effective care demands an expert approach that specifically addresses the complex interplay between your physical symptoms, medical treatments, social supports and mental well-being.
My 1:1 Health Psychology support sessions offer a confidential and tailored space to explore and address the psychological and social factors influencing your health.
I approach our work together with a holistic and evidence-based biopsychosocial approach, drawing on my specialised training in body-based and nature-informed therapeutic approaches. The central aim of our sessions together is to enhance psychosocial adjustment and build stronger resilience, offering you practical, sustainable strategies for self-management in the face of complex health challenges.
As a serious illness (cancer) survivor, I have lived experience of the multifaceted challenges faced not only at the time of diagnosis and during treatment, but also the long-term impact on quality of life in the years following a life-changing diagnosis. I understand the fear and uncertainty that accompanies any change in your health.
I can help you with:
Evidence-Based Support for Complex Physical Health Challenges
Who it is for
If you are living with long-term physical illnesses, autoimmune conditions, cardiovascular issues, or chronic pain or fatigue. This includes cancer survivors who may have experienced changes to body image post-surgery and adjustment to treatment issues. It also includes those living with neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis.
How we work together
Promoting psychological adjustment to diagnosis and treatment, reducing distress associated with physical symptoms, and developing sustainable behavioral strategies for managing chronic pain and fatigue. Support with managing your ongoing health anxiety that is so often a feature of serious or chronic illness.
A large part of our work together is the use of Acceptance and Commitment Therapeutic principles. This approach contains powerful tools to help you to manage the emotional aspects of illness and to work towards greater acceptance of your health condition and a sense of enhanced control over your life.
Specialized Support for Neurodegenerative and Cognitive Changes
Who it is for
If you are navigating early-stage dementia, mild cognitive impairment (MCI), stroke recovery, or age-related memory concerns.
How we work together
You will receive support to manage the emotional impact of your diagnosis, develop a greater understanding of your condition and develop cognitive support strategies to help with your everyday life. You will also receive advice and support on maintaining/promoting your brain health in day to day life.
Please note: I do not provide diagnosis of dementia services, our work together focuses on adjustment to the lived experience of having mild cognitive decline or dementia.
Psychological Support for Family Members Navigating a Loved One's Diagnosis
Who it is for
Family members, spouses, and adult children providing care for an individual with dementia or a chronic health condition.
How we work together
I have many years of clinical experience of supporting family carers. We will work together to gain a greater understanding of your loved one’s diagnosis and current functioning. You will receive support to enhance your resilience through preventative strategies for caregiver burnout, help to understand your overlapping roles as both a carer and family member, and encouragement in re-establishing self-care routines.
Psychological Support for Hormonal Health and Life Transitions
Who it is for
Perimenopause and menopause symptoms often occur at a time in your life when you are dealing with busy career and family demands. You may experience psychological distress, anxiety, excessive fatigue, mood changes, or ‘brain fog’ associated with perimenopause and menopause.
How we work together
We will develop coping strategies for managing common symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. I can help you to explore and address changes in your identity and life roles, using body-based techniques to support nervous system regulation through the transition where appropriate.
What I do NOT provide
- Acute mental health crisis services
- Psychotherapy or any other form of long-term counselling or therapy
- Dementia diagnosis or other neuropsychological diagnosis
- Diagnosis of clinical mental health conditions or treatment of same
- Emergency care in-between sessions
If you require urgent support or are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact your General Practitioner, emergency services, or an appropriate crisis support service immediately.

Testimonial
I have had the pleasure of working with Marianne for the last four years within the context of Yoga and Body therapy training and teacher mentorship programmes.
Curious and open of mind and heart, Marianne brings a consistency to her practice that is rare, a dedication she extends to all who work with her. Having completed 200hrs of functional training with F.Y.I., I can attest to Marianne's knowledge and skill in adapting healing practices to the individual and very present and real needs of each person.
I would highly recommend Marianne’s support with managing illness and enhancing wellbeing. Her extensive education and experience coupled with a sensitivity to the importance of body-work in integrated healing approaches, make Marianne an extremely well-rounded health professional.
I would recommend Marianne without hesitation. The world of Health Psychology is all the better for her presence in it.
