About Dr. Marianne Fallon
I am a Chartered Health Psychologist, accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland as a Chartered Member. My Society membership number is M2363C.
I have many years of clinical experience in supporting people to manage their health, often with chronic or serious illnesses. I believe that true wellbeing is achieved by empowering people to access their own resilience and strength.
This belief in the power of our internal coping resources is reinforced by my own complex medical history as a breast cancer survivor. This grounds my clinical expertise in lived experience. I understand what it’s like to deal with a sudden diagnosis, the uncertainty of being seriously unwell, coping with immediate and long-term side effects and the long path back towards returning to your life.
The Biopsychosocial model
I use the biopsychosocial model as an underpinning framework in my work with Clients. This is a very holistic approach, working with you to examine the biological, psychological and social aspects of your life and how these may be interacting.
My focus is not just on managing symptoms, but on supporting you to develop a sense of self-efficacy in dealing with the interconnected biological, psychological and social factors of health and illness.
With my background of clinical and research experience, I specialise in translating complex health information and research into practical, actionable strategies for your everyday life.
Ongoing Professional Development
I have engaged in extensive professional development over the years, including the completion of a research PhD in brain health and dementia risk (Trinity College Dublin). I am passionate about supporting people to optimise their brain health at all stages of life and to live well with a dementia diagnosis.
I engage in research and have co-authored publications in several highly regarded academic journals, in addition to contributing a chapter to a new seminal textbook in the field, The Palgrave Handbook of Consultancy in Health Psychology (2026).
I remain committed to ongoing professional development, incorporating new evidence-based approaches into my practice.
Nature & Body-Informed Approach
I have trained in ecotherapy and as a functional yoga facilitator, in order to use the wisdom of more embodied therapeutic approaches, supporting people to access deeper awareness of internal processes and coping resources. I have a particular interest in supporting people to engage in yoga and movement in nature who may historically have found it difficult to participate in movement practices.
I continue to train in Functional Yoga approaches with Grace Tempany, one of Ireland’s foremost body therapy teachers.
