Professional Supervision
A confidential, psychologically-informed space for reflection and growth.
I provide reflective cross-disciplinary supervision for professionals working in healthcare, social care, community services, leadership, and other helping professions.
As a Chartered Health Psychologist with over 20 years of clinical experience, supervision and training, service development, and staff support within a large voluntary organisation, I offer a reflective space that combines psychological insight with practical application.
I have co-authored peer-reviewed published articles on supporting staff mental health in the workplace — see my Academic & Professional Profile.
As well as my clinical experience, I have worked as an Area Manager within a voluntary organisation, overseeing a large regional budget and staff team. This has given me a grounded understanding of the realities of staff supervision, resource allocation and providing person-centred support within operational constraints.
How will we work together?
A collaborative, thoughtful approach, grounded in the realities of public service demands.
Reflective supervision provides an opportunity to step back from the demands of practice, explore challenges from different perspectives, and develop greater awareness of the factors influencing your work, wellbeing, and professional effectiveness.
My supervision approach draws on established supervision frameworks, including Hawkins and Shohet’s (1993) Seven-Eyed Supervision Model, alongside perspectives from health psychology and the science of behaviour change.
Supervision may focus on:
Professional development and confidence
Emotional impact of practice
Leadership and team dynamics
Ethical decision-making
Burnout prevention and resilience
Interpersonal dynamics at work
The supervision sessions will be calibrated towards your particular professional development and reflective needs.
I have a particular interest in people at the midpoint of their careers, where personal and professional stresses and demands can lead to a need for more support in navigating this phase of life and career.
Sessions provide a confidential, supportive, and professionally challenging space in which learning, reflection, and growth can occur. The aim is not simply to solve problems, but to deepen understanding, strengthen practice, and sustain wellbeing over the long term.
Please note: This is not Clinical Supervision or Casework Management; it is a support for reflecting on your general practice and professional development.

Testimonial
I have worked with Marianne on a range of community development and health-related initiatives over many years. She brings a highly structured and psychologically informed way of thinking to complex situations, particularly where there are intersecting social, behavioural, and wellbeing factors.
In collaborative work, she contributes clarity, depth, and a strong ability to make psychological perspectives accessible and practically useful in community settings. Marianne’s input consistently strengthens discussion and helps shape more considered and reflective approaches to service delivery and engagement.
Marianne provides excellent professional supervision, helping people to reflect on their approach to their work, supporting more effective decision-making and sustaining their productivity and motivation over time.
